I have a trojan on my laptop that won't die.?
Mcafee total protection doesn't do anything to stop it. As it turns real time scanning off. It also kills any .exe files that I install to stop it. Mcafee wants me to pay $159.95 because their software can't kill this trojan. When i attempt a sys restore in safe mode with networking as the admin I recive a message that states "system Restoe is not available to protect your computer. Please restart your computer, and then run system Restore again." I have an Acer Aspire one mini laptop with Windows XP I sadly do not have a disk drive on this computer so there are obviously no factory restore disks. I also have reasons to think that tech support planted rouge software on my comp because its behavior became MUCH MUCH worse right after the remote service began. PLEASE HELP I'm IN COLLEGE AND MY PAPERS ARE ON THIS THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

File transferring problem?
I have an old HP laptop with Windows XP, for the longest time I couldn't get the screen to come on, it was just black, a technician told me the hard drive was gone, but recently I managed to get it on a use it only for a few minutes at a time before it freezes and I have to start it up and do it all again. I want to transfer all my video, music and picture folders to my new computer via a jack that links both computers but I'm wondering if I'll be able to seeing that I only have a few short minutes before it freezes again, can anyone help, I want to save my files!
